December is the BEST time to do content refresh!!!
Not sure which pages need a refresh?
Search for statistics and trends-related articles
Find your listicles in the style of “the best Linkedin tools for 2026” (in those make sure to double check each tool’s site, as sites tend to evolve, including their homepage, logo, and obviously pricing and features)
You can also use “site:mysite.com intitle:2025” to identify pages with 2025 in their titles
(while doing this, you can also check for 2024 content, just in case there are leftovers from 2 years ago)
If you’re already in the new year mode, you may use one of your favorite LLMs to identify the pages to be refreshed.
Use this prompt:
“Analyze my website and identify content pages that should be refreshed now that a new year has started.
Focus specifically on pages that may contain:
- outdated years (2024, 2025, etc.)
- old statistics or reports
- references to trends, predictions, regulations, or tools from previous years
- “best tools/software/platforms” content that may need updated rankings or screenshots
- comparison pages that may no longer reflect the current market
- glossary or evergreen pages that became thin or generic over time
For each page, provide:
- URL
- Why it should be refreshed
- Refresh priority (High / Medium / Low)
- Suggested updates”
Once 2026 is here, remember to update the copyright year at the footer to @2026
I like new years
They are always full of hope, even if they starts with horrifying things like war or world pandemic in the background
Somehow most people see new beginnings as promising, and so do I
And when it comes to your site’s content
and its organic growth possibilities
(did someone say “SEO” or maybe “GEO”?) –
New Is The BEST Version of Fresh
