It’s time to boast a bit and give a nod to those customers who collaborate right from the start. I particularly appreciate those who trust me implicitly and just let me “run wild,” and most importantly, those who respond so quickly that I haven’t even finished sneezing and they’re already showering me with blessings.
Here’s to the customers of the best and winning kind.
You are so endearing that I genuinely enjoy the thought of being with you regularly.
So, when it comes to SEO, what will make you winning customers, in every sense of the word?
Aiming for the right targets is crucial.
Set your goals based on market research, not because your gut tells you that you don’t need to rank for any terms other than “winning customer.” If Google is smart enough to understand that our lives and language are full of semantics, why should it be any different for you? Want me to promote you just by your brand name? I can do it easily and effortlessly, but that means you’re missing out on a huge market segment that not only doesn’t know your name, it doesn’t even know you exist or has any clue about your product. SEO relies on search engines where people, well, search, and they do it with search terms, everyday words, not with brand names. Anyone searching for a brand is much more than a potential customer. They are almost fully baked.
Asking the right questions is a tremendous power.
Ask the right questions. Who are your customers? What do they need/want/search for? Are you truly the ultimate solution for them, and if not, how will you convince them that regardless of what their sister says, you are what they’ve been waiting for? Once you have these answers (defining buyer personas), you can move on to keyword research and refine the list of terms that will bring the most relevant traffic to your site.
Scratch Each Other’s Backs
Found an SEO professional with fire in her eyes and a burning mouse? Even if you trust your instincts, don’t just send and forget. Good SEO is based on full collaboration between the client and the promoter, and complete transparency of all related, overlapping, and non-overlapping channels. This means you need to not only collaborate in performing all necessary actions on the site, but you are also obligated to share everything that happens in your business, including capital raising efforts, offline marketing, or server upgrades following a paid campaign that is expected to bring insane traffic to the site.
From my experience, collaborative customers are the ones who quickly reap the fruits of SEO, including the high-hanging ones, and not just those that are nearly touching the ground.
