Why I still favor WordPress over Webflow

Are you considering building a website and wondering which platform to use? You might have come across Webflow and WordPress, two of the most popular website building platforms. While both platforms have their pros and cons, in this blog post, we will focus on why WordPress is better than Webflow when it comes to SEO. Here are some reasons to consider:

Pages Limitation

Firstly, Webflow has a limitation of 10K pages, which could be a constraint for larger websites, especially those with user-generated content. In contrast, WordPress does not have a limit on the number of pages, which makes it suitable for bigger projects.

Additional User Costs

Additionally, Webflow requires you to pay extra for each user, while WordPress users are limitless and free. This can add up quickly, especially for larger teams.

No (Official) Plugins

Moreover, Webflow does not offer any official plugins, while WordPress offers a vast variety of them. Although you can integrate code snippets from other services, it requires some programming knowledge and can feel like a patchwork solution.

(Semi) Multilingual

Although Webflow integrates with tools such as Weglot that enable automatic translations and the creation of a multilingual site, it’s not SEO friendly compared to plugins like Polylang on WordPress.

Lastly, Webflow offers some basic SEO functionalities, but to perform proper optimization, you’ll need some coding knowledge once again. In conclusion, if you’re looking to build a website that ranks well in search engine results, WordPress might be the better choice. Although Webflow offers some useful features, collaborating with an SEO expert is essential to ensure that your website is fully optimized.
